Advanced maintenance services for increased productivity
SMS Millcraft repairs, refurbishes and reconditions to exacting tolerances, in our facilities, equipment used to make steel and aluminum. The maintenance process includes inspecting, testing and precisely aligning components before they are returned to the mill to be put back in service. After we have performed maintenance on equipment, it will perform as good or better than new and will be able to operate at its highest capacity.
Beyond routine maintenance, our technology-based maintenance focuses on solving maintenance and operational problems to increase output and product quality, extend campaigns and reduce downtime.
SMS Millcraft provides technology-based maintenance on the following equipment:
- Continuous, billet and bloom casters
- Molds and copper mold plates
- Rolls, from caster to zinc pot rolls
- Spindles, chocks, reels and mandrels
- Oxygen lances for BOF and EAF furnaces
